Our groundworks go well beyond gardens and driveways. On this job, we laid a new tarmac access road through a residential building site while the houses were still going up.
Starting point
The site needed a proper road for residents and deliveries, laid to a standard that would take regular traffic, with a bend round to the plots at the back.
What we did
After the route was excavated and a compacted base put down, we laid the tarmac in sections and rolled each one to a smooth, dense finish. Edges were formed cleanly against the verges ready for landscaping.
- Excavation and a compacted sub base along the route
- Tarmac laid in sections and machine rolled
- A sweeping bend round to the rear plots
- Clean edges ready for verges and landscaping
Finished result
The new road gives the development a firm, smooth surface from the entrance to the back of the site, ready for the homes as they are finished.
