This frontage was the first thing anyone saw of the house, and the old tarmac had seen better days. Now a grey resin driveway with a silver block border gives it a sharp, modern welcome.
Starting point
The old drive in front of the double garages was faded, patched and uneven. Rather than resurface it in the same material, the owners wanted something smarter that would stay tidy with little effort.
What we did
We cleared the old surface and prepared a firm, level base with drainage planned in. Block paving was laid first to form a strong border and a clean edge to the road and lawn, then the resin was mixed and laid by hand within it.
- Removal of the worn tarmac frontage
- A compacted base with falls for drainage
- Silver block paving to frame and restrain the edges
- Grey resin bound surface trowelled to a smooth finish
Finished result
Grey resin and silver blocks sit neatly against the brickwork and the white garage doors, and the curved border follows the shape of the lawn. It is a hard wearing finish that drains well and keeps its looks.
