This garden had good bones but tired surfaces. We replaced the old timber deck and worn planting with a layered space for seating, dining and evenings outdoors.
Starting point
An old timber deck had weathered and started to rot, and the planting had outgrown its containers. The owners wanted a low maintenance garden that looked good from the house and worked for entertaining.
What we did
After clearing the old deck and planters, we built new levels in grey composite decking with porcelain paving alongside. White rendered raised planters frame the seating areas, and LED strips light the steps after dark.
- Removal of the old timber deck and planting
- Grey composite decking with porcelain paving
- White rendered raised planters
- LED lighting built into the steps and planters
Finished result
Composite decking will not rot or splinter, and the porcelain wipes clean. With lighting built in, the garden works as well at night as it does on a sunny afternoon.
